Gowanda Expands Passive Offerings with Acquisition of RCD Components

RCD’s resistors, capacitors, coils and delay lines augment GCG’s inductor offerings

Gowanda, NY (USA) – Gowanda Components Group is pleased to announce the acquisition of RCD Components, headquartered in Manchester, New Hampshire. RCD is a manufacturer of passive components – including resistors, capacitors, coils and delay lines – for the commercial, military and aerospace industries. This is the ninth acquisition for GCG within the last seven years.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed but GCG has stated that RCD will maintain its operations in Manchester as well as their support facilities in the Caribbean and Asia. In addition to RCD’s facilities, GCG has seven other manufacturing and design facilities located within the United States.

Gowanda Expands Broadband Conical Product Line

New Surface Mount and Flying Lead Configurations Enhance Utility

Gowanda, NY (USA) – Gowanda Electronics a designer and manufacturer of precision electronic components for broadband radio frequency and power applications, announces an expansion of its broadband conical product line. The new broadband RF conical inductors – C102 & C182 – are available in Surface Mount (SM) and Flying Lead (FL) configurations to enhance utility in the electronics design community.

Gowanda’s new series were developed to address market needs and industry trends calling for ever-increasing performance from broadband conical components. They are designed for use in communication applications for bias T’s (filter signals, remove noise), broadband chip manufacturing, communication platforms, high frequency, microwave circuitry, RF test set-ups, test & measurement, test gear, test instrumentation and transmission amplifiers.

The performance ranges provided by these new wirewound conical series – C102FL, C102SM, C182FL and C182SM – include inductance from 0.47 µH to 10.7 µH, DCR ohms from 0.19 to 7.10 and current rating mA DC from 150 to 815. All four series have been outgassing tested per ASTM E595 and meet the TML requirement of 1.0% max. Operating temperature range is -55°C to +125°C for all series. Contract manufacturer of high-reliability products will operate as "Gowanda REM-tronics"

Gowanda, NY (USA) – Gowanda Components Group is pleased to announce the merging of REM-tronics, Inc. with the GCG family. REM-tronics is a contract manufacturer of high-reliability products for the aerospace, industrial, medical and military industries. They are located in Dunkirk, New York.

“The merging of REM-tronics with GCG will further enhance our capability to design and manufacture high- reliability magnetic components and systems to address the needs of electronic design engineers in high-performance markets and applications around the world,” said Don McElheny, CEO of Gowanda Components Group. “Their proximity to GCG’s headquarters facilities in Gowanda, New York will enable us to readily nurture and pursue opportunities that leverage our combined strengths, to help our customers be successful,” McElheny added.

Recent advancements in the company’s design technology and manufacturing capability deliver significant improvement – nearly 2x or more – in SRF and Current Ratings for these new inductors as compared to traditional molded designs with equivalent inductance.
